Job Description:

Are you a skilled Data Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact within a leading financial organisation? We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Data and Insights team, where you will play a critical role in the ongoing administration, enhancement, and optimisation of our data platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to build and maintain robust, scalable, and secure data pipelines that support advanced analytics and business intelligence across the entire organisation, helping to shape a better future for our community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Engineer and model curated Data Warehouse solutions to support BI objectives and the development of key analytics and metrics
  • Liaise with business departments to evaluate data needs and apply technical skills to improve reporting and data insights
  • Partner with technical teams to build maturity in implementing data capture, ETL, validation, and test methods
  • Maintain data model documentation, including data dictionaries and data flow mapping to support data governance
  • Participate in an on-call support roster to monitor and troubleshoot the platform, ensuring high availability of critical services.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a similar role within a complex data environment, including at least 5 years in Data Warehousing
  • Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools, specifically SSIS and WhereScape, and proficiency in the Microsoft BI stack
  • Advanced SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries using sub-queries and nested techniques
  • Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC) tools, such as Precisely, for real-time and incremental data movement
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps, Git repositories, Azure Pipelines, and familiarity with PowerShell scripting.
