Job Description:

Data Engineer position at Citi focusing on applications development, system enhancements, and data analysis in the financial services industry with big data technologies.

Job Responsibility:

Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts
Identify and define necessary system enhancements
Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues
Recommend programming solutions
Install and support customer exposure systems
Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications
Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues
Conduct testing and debugging
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
Identify problems and analyze information
Make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions
Assess risk when business decisions are made
Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations

Requirements:

2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
Data Engineer with banking knowledge
Hands on experience in Business/Data Analysis in banking domain
Mapping- source to target, consumption, data tracing
Functional Impact analysis
Hands on RDBMS & Big data experience
Experience in Big data technologies like HDFS, Hive
Working experience with Any Hadoop Distribution - Cloudera/Hortonworks
Comfortable working with large data volumes
Firm understanding of logical data structures and analysis techniques
Experienced with Linux/Unix platform
Experience in RDMS and No SQL databases
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to work as part of team and independently
Interpersonal skills to interact with team members and clients
Prior experience working with remote teams
Willing to work extended hours
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

Experience in Java/Scala working experience
Python
Kafka or other equivalent messaging services
Exposure on Public Cloud - GCP/AWS/Azure
