Job Description:

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer who is passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. As a Data Engineer, you will leverage your deep technical knowledge to drive the creation of high-quality software products and promote a culture of technical excellence within the team.

Job Responsibility:

Code contributing member of an Agile team delivering sprint goals
Demonstrate technical expertise in software development
Contribute to implementation of features and technical solutions
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
Collaborate with Engineers to define system architecture and design
Provide guidance on scalable, robust solutions
Offer engineering guidance and support to multiple teams
Foster culture of technical excellence
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends

Requirements:

5+ years' experience implementing data-intensive solutions using agile methodologies
Proficient in Python, Java, or Scala
Experience with software engineering best practices (unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer review)
Experience with Hadoop for data storage and processing
Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
Experience with Cloud-native development and Container Orchestration tools (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
Experience with open-source data engineering tools and frameworks (Spark, Kafka, Beam, Flink, Trino, Airflow, DBT)
Exposure to table and file formats (Iceberg, Hive, Avro, Parquet, JSON)
Experience architecting horizontally scalable, highly available applications
Strong proficiency with relational databases and SQL
Clear understanding of Data Structures and Object Oriented Principles
Experience modeling data for analytical consumers
Ability to automate build, test and deployment of data pipelines
Proven experience providing technical vision and guidance to data teams
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

Experience with Data Transformation tools like Ab Initio
Appreciation of data parallelism and partitioning strategies
Experience in cloud native technologies (AWS, Google Cloud)
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Cloudformation)
Experience driving/influencing data strategy of team or Organization
