Job Description:

LearnUpon is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team in Dublin, Ireland. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days per week from LearnUpon's Dublin office. LearnUpon LMS helps organizations train their employees, partners, and customers. Businesses can manage, track, and achieve their unique learning goals — all through a single, powerful solution. As a Data Engineer in our Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining data solutions, creating efficient data pipelines, and ensuring data quality and accessibility for LearnUpon's core product and data warehouse. You'll participate in developing scalable data solutions and contribute to our great company culture.

Job Responsibility:

  • Consistently deliver impact by completing assigned data engineering tasks and meeting agreed commitments
  • Design and implement well-reasoned data solutions for assigned projects, focusing on quality and craftsmanship
  • Collaborate primarily within your team, actively engaging to gain alignment and deliver customer value through data-driven insights
  • Proactively seek to understand LearnUpon's data systems, technologies, processes, and decisions
  • Continuously improve team processes and data quality
  • Maintain AI models and the associated infrastructure
  • Informally mentor and support onboarding of team members in data-related tasks
  • Participate in interviewing to attract world-class data engineering candidates
  • Align your day-to-day work with the team's vision, mission, and strategy for data management and utilization

Requirements:

  • 4+ years experience in data engineering, working with large-scale data processing systems
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java, or Scala)
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with cloud-based data technologies
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AWS, particularly with key services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda
  • Knowledge of data pipeline tools and orchestration frameworks
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new data technologies and best practices
  • Commitment to putting the customer at the heart of everything you do
  • Willingness to take ownership of your work and act like an owner
  • Experience with MySQL, Snowflake, Airflow, Fivetran, & Superset
