Job Description

The Data Consulting Director will lead strategic advisory efforts in Data & AI, guiding clients through digital transformation. With over 10 years of experience, the role requires expertise in data governance, architecture, and advanced analytics. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is essential. Strong leadership and communication skills are critical for success in this position.

Job Responsibility

  • Combine strategic advisory and thought leadership to build trusted relationships with C-suite and wider client stakeholders
  • Translate complex data opportunities into clear business outcomes, use cases, and investment strategies
  • Delivery Excellence – guiding clients through their digital transformation journey
  • Shape and execute data-driven strategies, leverage advanced analytics, AI, and modern data platforms to unlock measurable business value
  • Lead high-performing teams from multiple locations to design and implement innovative solutions
  • Business Development – shaping our propositions and services
  • Support pre-sales activities: Create and qualify new opportunities, from initial discovery through to contract signature
  • Anticipate sector trends and regulatory change
  • translate them into differentiated propositions
  • Contribute to account strategies and collaborate with sales leaders to expand our footprint, leveraging trusted relationships and consulting-led sales
  • Practice Development – sustainably scaling our business: Define and develop Data & AI propositions, frameworks and methodologies to grow our practice and ensure scalable, repeatable delivery
  • Build, mentor, and inspire multi-disciplinary teams of consultants, engineers, and AI specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Currently working in a major Management Consulting firm, and/or in industry but having a Management Consulting background and proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation
  • 10+ years of experience in data consulting, or a related role
  • Deep understanding of trends in data governance, data platforms, cloud technologies, AI/ML, and analytics
  • Experience of leading and delivering Data & AI projects
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build trust with senior stakeholders, overcoming resistance to change
  • Skilled in identifying Data & AI opportunities, shaping value propositions, and driving growth
  • Track record of building and managing high-performing teams
  • Keeping pace with the rapidly evolving data and AI technology landscape
  • Experience in data, consulting, analytics or a related function involving quantitative data analysis to solve problems
