Job Description:

Citi is seeking an experienced Business Analyst at an Assistant Vice President (AVP) role to support the execution of Data Quality Management within the Banking & International (B&I) Data organization. This role involves driving Data Governance initiatives, ensuring compliance with internal standards, and supporting regulatory reporting efforts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in categorizing, identifying, and logging data concerns impacting Banking and International Data stakeholders
  • conduct root cause analysis and prioritize issues affecting B&I Data stakeholders
  • participate in solution design, remediation planning, and execution of strategic and tactical data remediation solutions
  • monitor and track data concerns, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with Citi’s Data Governance policies
  • provide data concern updates using quantifiable metrics for internal management
  • oversee data concerns metrics reporting processes from strategic data repositories
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., technology, finance, risk, and business units) to monitor project status and ensure alignment with Citi’s Data Governance Policy and standards
  • identify and address barriers to timely execution, mitigating risks and driving solutions
  • work with risk and defense teams (2nd and 3rd lines of defense) to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and risk management best practices
  • leverage analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, and other data visualization platforms to conduct data analysis and support decision-making.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in the Banking or Finance industry, with experience in data management, governance, or quality programs
  • experience with data concern management frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., BCBS 239) is a plus
  • familiarity with Citi’s technology architecture and multiple asset classes such as Banking, Interest Rates, Credit, FX, Commodities, Equities, and Prime is a plus
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams
  • ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • strong risk and control mindset, with experience working with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense functions
  • proven ability to work effectively with large, complex, and diverse teams
  • strong organizational skills with the ability to navigate complex systems and management processes
  • Bachelor’s/University degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred.
