Job Description

The Data Centre Tech Lead / Site Lead-Planner is a pivotal role in delivering Telecoms Cabling Infrastructure Support Services and Data Centre Operations for Onnec Group clients. This role combines technical leadership with planning, quality assurance, and project coordination responsibilities, ensuring seamless service delivery across all client data centre and campus sites.

Job Responsibility

  • Plan, allocate, and manage the daily workload for on-site teams
  • Produce and manage weekly shift rotas
  • Mentor and support team members
  • Attend and contribute to client and project meetings
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Service Managers, and client stakeholders
  • Provide DC project support capability
  • Review and sign off job packs
  • Oversee and maintain documentation
  • Conduct regular quality assurance (QA) checks and participate in audits
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety, quality, and security standards
  • Manage and track assets
  • Supervise and QA all cabling installs
  • Support incident management, change control, and escalation processes
  • Provide support for job pack reviews, QA, and documentation upkeep
  • Be flexible to cover shifts at any location
  • Act as a mediator between supplier management, client contacts, and third parties
  • Perform additional tasks as instructed by the client and/or Onnec Group Management

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in data centre operations
  • Proven experience in team workload management and project support
  • ITIL knowledge and experience preferred
  • Core DC operations certification (e.g., CDCTP) required or preferred
  • Experience in planning IMACs, resource allocation, and shift management
  • Strong documentation, QA, and audit skills
  • Excellent communication and client liaison abilities
  • Flexibility to cover all shifts and locations as required
