Job Description

We are seeking a Data Centre Operations Specialist to manage and execute 24/7 data centre activities, including Data Warehouse and Billing cycle generation, backups, housekeeping, and monitoring for Vodafone Egypt systems hosted in the VOIS Data Centre. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain service quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibility

  • Operate and monitor data centre activities on a 24/7 shift basis, ensuring smooth execution of Data Warehouse and Billing cycles
  • Maintain quality standards for all processes and trigger improvements where necessary
  • Report data centre performance and activities as Level 1 support
  • Handle service quality escalations and coordinate with Level 2 support teams
  • Ensure the knowledge base is updated and cascade information to team members
  • Develop lessons learned and contribute to service delivery enhancements

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Computer or Communication Engineering or Computer Science is a plus (not mandatory)
  • 1–3 years of IT experience, preferably in technical support
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Intermediate knowledge of operating systems (Linux and Windows)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with Microsoft, Unix/Linux systems
  • Shell scripting knowledge and ITIL certification are advantageous
  • Experience with analytics and reporting tools
  • Ability to identify patterns and correlations between system messages and customer data

  • Monitor, measure and report upon the performance of all specialist contractors in terms of their ability to carry out the work against the agreed contractual budget
  • Lead and Support meetings regularly with contractors, specialist vendors and suppliers to ensure that required standards are established and maintained, and develop corrective action plans when, or if performance falls below expectations
