Job Description:

To achieve excellence in preventative and reactive maintenance programs incorporating industry best practice, innovative maintenance techniques and statutory and contractual compliance. Oversee the management and control of all plant, mechanical and electrical systems and to co-ordinate remedial action with the Engineering Team in the event of Business Critical failures. To provide leadership and direction to multi skilled Engineering Operations teams made up of directly employed staff and appointed vendors. Ensure that all staff and vendors employed within the clients facilities strictly adhere to client and JLL’s policies and procedures. Act as point of escalation for critical failures to assist the technical team to make safe, identify, analyse, rectify and report improvements. Reports to the Data Centre Operations Manager.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manager the site operations, including effective hiring, motivation, development, training and discipline of the site operation technicians and maintenance teams
  • Monitor KPI and up-time requirements
  • Support site reviews, including maintenance standards, equipment replacement, security, change control, single points of failure, Tier adherence and operational risk
  • Ensure delivery of planned and reactive activities, utilizing the CMMS platform within financial operating targets
  • To perform additional tasks as required by the Data Centre Operations Manager, and Client Critical Facilities Manager
  • Support advice and consultation to operate the client’s facilities with regard to facilities engineering matters
  • Responsibility for site repair and maintenance carried out by subcontractors to ensure work completion, quality and method of working for compliance with specification and ordinance requirements
  • Monitor, measure and report upon the performance of all specialist contractors in terms of their ability to carry out the work against the agreed contractual budget
  • Lead and Support meetings regularly with contractors, specialist vendors and suppliers to ensure that required standards are established and maintained, and develop corrective action plans when, or if performance falls below expectations
  • Support daily cadence meetings, monthly operation meeting and quarterly business review with UOB
  • Ensure that maintenance documentation meets the required standards and sufficient information is provided to operate an effective asset management regiment
  • Assist/support the client with statutory compliance requirements/certifications for the site
  • Ensure asset information is maintained and changes updated within the CMMS
  • Ensure site operations, including incident management and escalation is performed in accordance with approved Client/JLL procedures

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility
  • Resourceful, analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client, client stakeholders and vendor staff
  • Possess relevant DC certifications
  • Understands continuous improvement initiatives, client relationships and preparation of reports
