We are seeking a skilled Data Centre Engineer to support operations at a critical infrastructure site in Narvik. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with strong experience in data centre environments, hardware maintenance, and on-site troubleshooting. You will ensure uptime, reliability, and operational continuity for servers, network equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
Provide day-to-day onsite support within the data centre, ensuring stable operation of all hardware and environmental systems
Install, rack, stack, cable, and configure server and network hardware
Perform diagnostic checks and hands-on troubleshooting for servers, switches, storage, and related equipment
Monitor data centre environmental conditions (power, cooling, alarms) and escalate issues as required
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and asset inventory updates
Support remote engineering teams by acting as hands, eyes, and ears onsite
Maintain accurate documentation, including change logs, incident reports, and hardware tracking
Comply with strict health & safety procedures and site access requirements
Requirements:
2–4+ years of experience in a data centre, NOC, or infrastructure support environment
Proven ability to rack/stack equipment, manage cabling standards, and handle hardware in a safe, methodical manner
Familiarity with server architectures (HP, Dell, Lenovo or similar) and network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Arista)
Strong understanding of power distribution (PDUs, UPS) and cooling concepts
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and site schematics
Comfortable working independently or with limited supervision
Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Valid right to work in Norway OR eligibility to obtain a work permit
Nice to have:
Experience supporting cloud or high-density compute environments
Knowledge of ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy)
Basic knowledge of Linux or Windows Server environments
Prior experience in remote-hands support for international teams
