Job Description

The Data Center Senior Cost Manager is responsible for providing full cost management services across the lifecycle of data center projects — from feasibility and budgeting through procurement, construction, and closeout. The role involves working with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining quality, schedule, and performance requirements. The ideal candidate will bring deep understanding of the data center market, MEP-intensive cost structures, and experience working in a consulting environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts for data center projects
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates at all project stages (concept, schematic, detailed design, pre-tender, and post-contract)
  • Lead value engineering exercises to optimize design and cost efficiency
  • Manage tender processes — including bill of quantities preparation, bid analysis, and recommendation reports
  • Evaluate and negotiate change orders and variations during construction
  • Conduct cost benchmarking and market analysis specific to data center construction
  • Provide cost advice on mechanical, electrical, and components critical to data centers
  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to align budgets with project objectives
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and financial updates for internal and client review
  • Support the development of cost databases and cost modeling tools for data center projects
  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance, risk management, and compliance requirements
