Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I DCT Intern, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Job Responsibility

  • Follow guidelines and work closely with experienced technicians to understand and comply with data center policies, procedures, and deadlines
  • Learn to read and understand Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and assess their impact on daily operations
  • Assist with preparing, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, and decommissioning network, storage, and server equipment with minimal business disruption
  • Complete assigned support tickets efficiently while developing familiarity with KPIs
  • Participate actively in daily safety briefings and comply with all safety and security protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Help maintain a positive team environment through collaboration and effective handovers
  • Escalate technical, safety, or security incidents promptly
  • Complete all required training, including security and environmental health & safety (EHS) training
  • Handle routine physical demands such as lifting, climbing, and working in data center environments

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant technical qualification (e.g., electrical, mechanical, IT, or similar discipline)
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components
  • Strong interest in IT infrastructure and datacenter technologies
  • Authorization to work in France (EU citizenship or valid residence permit with work authorization)
  • Proficiency in English with a good working level (written and spoken)
  • This position is intended for students currently enrolled in a technical training or apprenticeship program aligned with datacenter operations
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: must be passed upon hire and renewed every two years
