Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Data Center Technician to support and maintain our mission-critical infrastructure. This role is hands-on and essential for ensuring uptime and operational excellence in our data center environment. Candidates should be comfortable working with hardware and software, including use of the Linux command line, and must be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.

Job Responsibility:

  • Maintain physical hardware infrastructure, including racking equipment, replacing hard drives, and other system components
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment with minimal supervision
  • Manage onsite inventory for hard drives, cables, rails, and spare parts
  • Process RMAs for defective components to facilitate timely replacement
  • Set up, test, and activate new equipment via the Linux command line
  • Train new Data Center Technicians as required
  • Assist with projects installing new systems and services when possible
  • Follow and enhance data center best practices and update documentation regularly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • must be available within an hour’s notice, including occasional 24x7 onsite support
  • Work schedules may include weekends (e.g., Tuesday–Saturday) and may require evening or overnight shifts
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including moving and unpacking equipment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a data center or similar operational environment preferred
  • Familiarity with server racking, cable management, and hardware diagnosis
  • Comfort using Linux command-line tools for system setup and verification
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Physical ability to move and install equipment as needed
  • Willing and able to work shifts and participate in on-call rotation
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
