Job Description

As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for the physical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of infrastructure within our data center facilities. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our data center operations.

Job Responsibility

  • Install and maintain data center infrastructure including servers, racks, networking equipment, and storage devices
  • Perform structured cabling installations and maintenance to ensure optimal connectivity and organization within the data center environment
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and cabling issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and maintain uninterrupted operations
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and performance of data center equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment installations, configurations, and maintenance activities for reference and audit purposes
  • Coordinate with other teams including network engineers, system administrators, and facilities personnel to support data center operations and projects
  • Follow industry best practices and standards for data center operations, including safety protocols and security measures
  • Respond to data center emergencies and outages as needed, including after-hours and on-call support

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • technical certifications or relevant college degree preferred
  • Prior experience in data center operations, infrastructure installation, or related field
  • Proficiency in structured cabling techniques and standards
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues
  • Familiarity with data center equipment including servers, switches, and storage devices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs)
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights
  • Physical dexterity for cable management and equipment installation
