A hands-on technician role responsible for installing, maintaining, and decommissioning network and cabling infrastructure within a data center environment. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow structured processes, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Job Responsibility:
Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and design documentation
Perform structured cabling including copper and fiber installations
Execute cable terminations, labeling, and testing
Maintain clean and organized work environments within the data center
Provide updates on project progress and collaborate with stakeholders
Troubleshoot and test copper and fiber systems
Install ladder racking, seismic bracing, and underfloor infrastructure
Conduct service swaps on live networking equipment
Requirements:
Experience with low-voltage cabling and structured cabling systems
Ability to pull, terminate, and test copper and fiber cables
Familiarity with telecom tools and safety standards
Experience reading blueprints and wiring diagrams
Knowledge of MDF/IDF layouts and cable management
Basic troubleshooting and testing using equipment like OTDR or DSX testers
