Job Description

The Data Center Services Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective, reliable, and compliant operation of Vodafone Business External Data Center Services. The role acts as a central coordination point between vendors, internal stakeholders, and customers, driving alignment across all operational activities. It is accountable for planning and managing vendor engagements, orchestrating customer-related activities, and ensuring seamless service delivery. In addition, the role ensures adherence to defined standards, governance frameworks, and operational procedures. It plays a key role in incident and major event management by coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring timely response, resolution, and communication.

Job Responsibility

  • End-to-End Service Assurance: Accountable for ensuring external data center services are delivered reliably and in line with SLAs, KPIs, and contractual commitments
  • Provide an overarching coordination layer to secure consistent service quality across all providers
  • Vendor Orchestration: Orchestrate external data center partners to ensure aligned priorities, performance, and delivery outcomes
  • Drive structured service governance through regular performance reviews and corrective action tracking
  • Customer & Stakeholder Interface: Act as the single coordination point for customer-facing service topics related to external data centers
  • Ensure clear communication, proactive engagement, and effective handling of escalations
  • Incident & Major Event Leadership: Lead coordination during incidents and major events, ensuring rapid response, cross-functional alignment, and timely resolution
  • Ensure learnings are captured and translated into measurable improvements
  • Standards & Compliance Oversight: Enforce adherence to Vodafone Business standards, security policies, and operational frameworks across all external providers
  • Ensure consistency and governance in multi-vendor environments
  • Demand & Capacity Alignment: Partner with product and planning teams to align demand forecasts with capacity strategies
  • Ensure external data center capacity is proactively planned and scaled in line with business needs
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive service optimization, standardization, and efficiency across external data center operations
  • Identify and execute improvement opportunities to enhance service quality and customer experience

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technologies, or a related field
  • Proven experience in data center environments, including colocation and external/third-party data center service models
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure components: Power systems (UPS, generators, redundancy models), Cooling systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH), Rack, space, and cabling management, Physical security and access control systems
  • Solid knowledge of data center design and resiliency standards (e.g., Tier classifications, high availability, redundancy architectures)
  • Experience with network and connectivity fundamentals within data center environments (cross-connects, backbone connectivity, latency considerations)
  • Hands-on exposure to capacity planning concepts, including space, power, and cooling utilization management
  • Strong understanding of service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and their application in data center service delivery
  • Experience in multi-vendor data center ecosystems, with the ability to manage and govern external providers effectively
  • Proven capability in incident and major event coordination within mission-critical infrastructure environments
  • Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools used in data center operations
  • Understanding of compliance and security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC, local regulatory requirements) within data center environments
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret service performance metrics, capacity reports, and operational data
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skills
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
