Job Description:

We are looking for a highly capable Datacentre Operations Engineer to support the deployment, operation, and maintenance of our UK Sovereign datacentre equipment. This role is hands‑on, field‑oriented, and critical to ensuring our mobile infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and mission‑ready. You will work across physical racking, stacking, networking, hardware, and monitoring systems to keep datacentre assets fully operational. This role is based at one of our two UK datacentre sites but able to travel between the datacentres, this position suits an engineer who enjoys variety, problem‑solving, and working in dynamic environments where mobility, resilience, security and precision matter.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing routine and corrective maintenance on servers, storage, networking equipment, and supporting infrastructure
  • Replace failed components, manage spares, and maintain accurate asset records
  • Participate in an on‑call rota to provide out‑of‑hours support when required
  • Document incidents, root‑cause findings, and corrective actions
  • Ensure physical and logical security controls are consistently applied across all mobile datacentre deployments
  • Installation of new equipment within the racks, assisting in the planning of power constraints and / or cooling within the relevant racks

Requirements:

  • Highly experienced in Data Center operations
  • CompTIA Server+ or similar
  • Clean UK Driving License and use of own vehicle
  • Eligibility to pass BS7858 security check
