The Data Center Engineer at NTT DATA is responsible for managing daily operations, resolving technical incidents, and providing exceptional customer support. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience and an associate degree in Computer Science. Strong technical skills in hardware installation and data center operations are essential. Job Responsibility:
Perform daily data center technician functions, including cabling, hardware installation, asset tracking, procurement, and customer support
Install, rack, cable, and maintain customer equipment and telecommunications hardware
Ensure accurate documentation of hardware, software, and configuration items (CMDB) in accordance with NTT standards
Manage and resolve ServiceNow tickets following departmental procedures
Respond to incidents promptly, meeting or exceeding SLA requirements
Participate in weekly on‑call rotations
Maintain documentation and support compliance audits
Serve as a point of contact for customers and internal teams
Support customer projects and contribute to an excellent customer support experience
Assist with executive briefings, data center tours, and custom engagements
Receive and ship inventory as needed
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
Recommend improvements to enhance reliability, security, and performance
Build strong, respectful relationships across teams and foster a collaborative environment
Share lessons learned and promote continuous improvement
Demonstrate accountability, meet deadlines, and uphold NTT values
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a Data Center Technician
Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Strong aptitude with tools, hardware, and physical installation work (must be able to lift 50 lbs)
Excellent communication skills and experience working with external vendors and customers
Ability to troubleshoot, monitor, and tune various systems
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and adaptable to changing environments
Proven ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams
