Job Description

Meta designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Developing, operating and managing the data center infrastructure and facilities the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability, flexibility and capital and operational cost efficiency in a safe, healthy working environment. Meta is seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our Data Center Economic Development Team. This position will play a key role in Meta's data center site selection activities by completing tax and economic incentive diligence and negotiating economic development agreements for new and expanding regions. Domestic and international travel will be required (up to 50%).

Job Responsibility

  • Act as the economic development project lead for new data center site selection efforts as well as existing site expansions
  • Partner with site selection and legal teams to negotiate economic development agreements and deal terms with optionality in mind
  • Negotiate and deliver new commercial agreements and creative commercial solutions that enable capacity and create fungible options
  • Create robust optionality strategies that will allow the company to deliver capacity faster in the future when needed
  • Complete diligence related to economic development programs as well as state and local taxes
  • Interface with internal organizations including data center design, construction, legal, finance, accounting, and tax
  • Work with cross-functional partners to understand the project parameters needed to support data center economic development discussions
  • Lead various projects related to our data centers, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience in state and local taxes and economic incentives
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Financial analysis and project management experience
  • Experience negotiating, communicating and representing the company’s interests with economic development personnel, government officials, and service providers
  • Experience coordinating internal staff and consultants
