Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, design, and construction of mission-critical data center facilities. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage complex, multi-phase construction projects from conception through commissioning while ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting sophisticated requirements of Cerebras AI cluster. The Data Center Construction Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for all construction activities, coordinating between internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, general contractor, contractors, and vendors. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of data center construction including site preparation, shell and core construction (as applicable), mechanical and electrical systems installation, and critical infrastructure deployment. This position demands exceptional technical knowledge of data center systems, strong leadership capabilities, and proven experience managing large-scale construction projects in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • 7+ years of construction project management experience, with at least 3 years specifically managing data center or mission-critical facility projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction projects valued at $50M+ from design through completion
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software and tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Procore, CAD or similar)
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure including power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression, and building management systems
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contractors, vendors, and consultants simultaneously
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development, cost control, and change order management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or MBA
  • 10+ years of construction project management experience with 5+ years in data center construction
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification
  • Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center construction
  • Knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier Standards and ASHRAE guidelines for data centers
  • Experience managing projects using Design-Build or Construction Manager at Risk delivery methods
  • Familiarity with modular and prefabricated construction techniques
  • Background in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Experience with commissioning and startup of critical infrastructure systems
  • Track record of delivering projects in accelerated timelines
  • Strong vendor and contractor relationships within the data center industry
  • Experience with international construction projects and building standards
