Job Description:

To accurately capture, update, and maintain financial and client data within company systems while ensuring compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and data quality standards.

Job Responsibility:

  • Accurately capture client, policy, loan, investment, or transaction data into internal systems
  • Verify source documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Identify and correct data discrepancies
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulatory requirements (e.g., FICA, KYC, AML where applicable)
  • Process applications, claims, payments, or account updates
  • Perform data reconciliations and basic financial validations
  • Generate reports as required by supervisors or compliance teams
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records
  • Liaise with internal departments (Finance, Compliance, Operations) to resolve data queries
  • Meet daily/weekly productivity and accuracy targets

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric (required)
  • Certificate or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (advantageous)
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Data Capturer within a financial services environment
  • Experience in banking, insurance, investments, lending, or accounting environments preferred
  • Experience working with financial systems or CRM platforms
  • Strong data capturing speed and accuracy
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Excel (formulas, filtering, basic reconciliation), Microsoft Word, Outlook
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., core banking systems, policy admin systems, accounting software such as Sage 50 or Pastel Accounting)
  • Understanding of: Financial terminology, Basic accounting principles, FICA/KYC compliance requirements
  • High attention to detail
