Job Description

A Data Backup and Recovery Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining reliable backup and recovery strategies across complex IT environments, ensuring availability, integrity, and recoverability of data in alignment with business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments
  • Assist in configuring backup servers and storage appliances, optimizing storage use, and ensuring the backup infrastructure can scale with demand
  • Support day-to-day backup operations by scheduling and monitoring backup jobs for systems such as databases, file servers, and virtual machines
  • Troubleshoot failed jobs and maintain recovery time and point objectives
  • Contribute to disaster recovery planning, support data restore requests, and help document procedures and runbooks
  • Monitor backup health and generate reports on performance, capacity, and compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree completed in the last/in this year (preferably in Engineering/Computer Science/IT)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Slovak and English
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Any Experience/basic knowledge of private cloud platforms such as Linux OS, VMware, KVM, Cloudstack, Ansible, Kubernetes
