Are you an experienced Data Architect looking for a high-impact contract opportunity in the public sector? Our Edmonton client is seeking a talented professional to join their high-performing team for an initial 12-month contract with a strong possibility of extension. In this fast-paced, agile environment, you will play a central role in transforming manual reporting templates into analytics-ready data structures, directly enhancing a vital Digital Regulatory Assurance System. Job Responsibility

  • Identify overlapping parameters, metrics, and calculations across various monitoring and reporting templates to reduce duplication
  • Translate manual, upload-oriented reporting templates into analytics-ready data structures, including complex object, fact, and dimension tables
  • Lead and steward the Unified Business Object model for regulatory domains by defining core business objects, attributes, and relationships
  • Define and enforce structural standards, including row-level grain, column consistency, versioning, corrections, and historical traceability
  • Document a traceable record of architectural decisions and translate finalized data model designs into technical engineering specifications
  • Design data structures that support advanced analytical use cases such as aggregations, trend analysis, and anomaly detection
  • Establish a structured model feedback loop with data analysts to review validation findings and plan for smooth schema evolution

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working as a Data Architect, designing, planning, implementing, and supporting enterprise solution databases in a large, complex public sector environment
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience documenting enterprise solution databases and utilizing enterprise architecture principles, standards, tools, and processes
  • Proven experience designing data plans and models that align an organization's technology with business capabilities, ideally using tools like PowerDesigner, ER Studio, or Erwin
  • Strong background in agile sprint development and experience designing data structures optimized for advanced analytics and business intelligence products like Power BI
  • A completed College or Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related field of study
