We are seeking a visionary Data Architect for a permanent leadership role based in Etobicoke. This position is central to designing and maintaining the enterprise data architecture that powers our analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence ecosystems. You will bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring our data systems are scalable, secure, and optimized for the future of AI-driven decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business requirements and support long-term scalability
Develop and refine data storage solutions in collaboration with infrastructure teams to maximize performance while minimizing operational costs
Partner with both technical and business units to document data requirements, ensuring the architecture supports both operational and strategic organizational goals
Support and contribute to enterprise frameworks for data security, classification, privacy, and compliance
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend continuous improvements to data systems to keep the organization at the forefront of the industry
Provide leadership and set standards for Data Engineers, BI Analysts, and AI Data Scientists to ensure consistency across all data practices
Document complex data pipelines, maintain data catalogues, and establish clear data lineage for analytics and reporting
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related quantitative field
Minimum 5 years of experience specifically designing data architecture, with 10+ years of total experience in enterprise data architecture, modelling, or engineering
Proficiency with tools such as Python, Microsoft Azure, Fivetran, DBT, Knime, and Dataiku
Possessing or working toward a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation is highly preferred
Strong ability to architect scalable data systems that meet both business and high-level technical requirements
Excellent ability to translate complex technical data concepts for non-technical audiences and senior leadership
Ability to work independently and make high-impact decisions regarding enterprise data strategy
