Job Description

The Data and Reporting Analyst is responsible for turning delivery and engineering data into clear, actionable insights that enable informed decision‑making across the organisation. The role centres on data extraction, reporting, analysis, and visualisation—ensuring leaders and teams have accurate, timely, and unambiguous information. This position also supports continuous improvement by identifying trends, efficiency opportunities, and performance patterns through data.

Job Responsibility

  • Identify, extract, and analyse delivery and engineering data from Jira and related systems to surface trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards that clearly communicate complex data to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ensure data quality and consistency, validating inputs and maintaining trusted, repeatable reporting processes
  • Translate data into insights, providing clear commentary and recommendations that support decision‑making and operational improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and product teams to understand context, pain points, and reporting needs
  • Develop and maintain key performance metrics to track effectiveness, throughput, flow, and the impact of improvements
  • Proactively identify patterns and outliers to highlight inefficiencies, blockers, or process failures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through evidence‑based recommendations and tracking adoption of changes

Requirements

  • Strong experience in data analysis and reporting, ideally in a delivery or engineering environment
  • Ability to convert raw data into clear visualisations, dashboards, and narratives that drive action
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on accuracy and insight
  • Proficiency with Jira and familiarity with extracting and shaping data from operational tools
  • Experience with dashboard/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in simplifying complex data for non‑technical audiences
  • Understanding of agile ways of working and delivery/reporting metrics (throughput, cycle time, WIP, velocity trends)

Nice to have

Jira Administration experience is desirable, including workflow configuration, custom fields, schemes, and data structure optimisation
