Job Description

Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is seeking a full-time Data and Analytics Director. This position assists the Development Team to ensure a high-quality database, timely and accurate donor acknowledgement, strategy regarding mailing segments and importing/exporting of data. The Data and Analytics Director must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of Boise Rescue Mission Ministries. The Data and Analytics Director must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission's Statement of Faith. This is a full-time position. Normal schedule is 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday – Friday. Position requires working onsite in the Mission Administration building. This position may require occasional evenings and weekends outside of normal work hours.

Job Responsibility

  • Assists the Development Team to ensure a high-quality database, timely and accurate donor acknowledgement, strategy regarding mailing segments and importing/exporting of data
  • Effectively communicates with Development team and business office to ensure accuracy of data entry for gifts
  • Works with Mission staff to ensure accuracy of data, mailings, etc.
  • Runs and exports data for mailings, event invitations, phone calls, etc.
  • Imports mailing data into database
  • Consistently cleans up database addresses, zip codes, etc.
  • Prints and mails in-house special mailings
  • Ensures thank you letters mailed to donors within 24 hours of gift receipt
  • Assists Development Communications team with mailing counts, appeal codes, etc.
  • Requests, edits and imports multiple thank you letters every month
  • Evaluates database and seeks opportunities to utilize it more efficiently
  • Thinks through data entry processes in order to streamline and keeps up to date on new database developments and how to implement them
  • Makes decisions regarding data entry in partnership with staff, Chief Development Officer and Business Manager
  • Attend strategic meetings with Development leadership team and outside consultants to determine strategy for mailings
  • Manages a data entry team of 3 that consists of data entry 1, data entry 2/volunteer data entry, receptionist/in-kind data entry (and a seasonal staff during the last three months of the year)
  • Ensures data entry is accurate and completed on time
  • Assigns tasks and assists with questions
  • Trains all Mission staff in the use of the database
  • In-house troubleshooter for database
  • Willing to take on other responsibilities as needed to support the work of the Mission

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of experience managing a database
  • Raiser's Edge/NXT or similar database experience (queries, data entry, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, internet research
  • Supervisory experience
  • Intermediate typing and computer skills
  • Confident talking on the phone
