Job Description:

Lead instructor for the full-time (12 week) Data Analytics Bootcamp. The bootcamp is a life-changing educational experience where students learn the skills and mindsets to take on new careers as data analysts. The curriculum consists of nine units: Responsible data analytics; Statistics and mathematics for data analysts; Data analysis and interpretation with Excel and Power BI; Data acquisition and cleaning with SQL; Data analysis and communication with Tableau; Data analysis with Python; Data in the organization; Capstone projects; Career planning. Learning is assessed through four major projects and nine labs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach 40 hours per week
  • Commit a few hours per week preparing lessons and materials, leveraging existing GA curriculum content
  • Work closely with co-instructors and/or teaching assistants to provide students with meaningful and prompt feedback on their progress, including assessment rubrics
  • Work alongside GA staff and teaching team to best meet the needs and learning styles of your students
  • Guide students through development of a stellar capstone project that will showcase their abilities to hiring managers
  • Facilitate a dynamic, collaborative, and positive classroom community
  • Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of learning a new skill set, as well as dealing with learning barriers along the way

Requirements:

  • Eager to shape the skills, minds, and trajectories of eager General Assembly students
  • Strong experience using the following tools: Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI and Python Programming
  • 4+ years of work experience in a role responsible for cleaning messy data, analyzing the data and presenting data-based insights
  • Proficient in data analysis using Python's pandas library, with a solid understanding of data manipulation, cleaning, and aggregation
  • Familiar with machine learning concepts and practical experience with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
  • Experience with web scraping tools and techniques (e.g., BeautifulSoup)
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or training others in a professional or educational setting
  • Priority will be given to applicants with the Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) /Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), awarded by the Institute of Adult Learning Singapore
  • Must be authorized to work in Singapore
