Job Responsibility:
Working with large data sets drawn from a wide variety of internal and external sources, including environmental data, survey feedback and operational data
Design and interrogation of databases
carrying out data transformations and liaising with the business to improve our ways of working
Supporting the business and working with stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a range of reports
Becoming a key point of contact, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging with stakeholders to further our objectives
Maintaining data quality and ensuring data is secure and properly utilised in line with the GDPR
Bridge the gap between the business and data, using analytical thinking to solve business problems to generate value, presented through clear presentations and insight
Requirements:
A positive, curious mindset and a natural interest in solving problems with data
Experience working with large datasets, databases or reporting, or a strong understanding of how operational data works and the confidence to pick things up quickly
A willingness and ability to learn new tools and techniques as you go
Experience with some form of query language like TSQL or ANSI SQL
Experience with some form of scripting language, like Python or R, is an advantage
Experience with a dashboarding software like Power BI or Tableau
Familiarity with tools like R, Business Objects, Microsoft Azure services or Microsoft Office is helpful too
The ability to explain complex information in a clear, engaging way to different people
A degree (or equivalent experience) in an analytical subject such as Science, Maths or Geography is an advantage but not essential
Experience using your analytical skills in a business setting and the confidence to work with and support stakeholders
Nice to have:
Experience with some form of scripting language, like Python or R
Experience with Power BI or Tableau
Familiarity with R, Business Objects, Microsoft Azure services or Microsoft Office
A degree (or equivalent experience) in an analytical subject such as Science, Maths or Geography

Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills & experience
