We’re hiring a Data Analyst who is curious to use SQL and user analytics to uncover insights that guide product decisions and build dashboards that support the day-to-day processes of the business. Product development moves quickly at Monte Carlo, so your work will have an immediate and visible impact on what gets built. This is a generalist analytics role. Some days you’ll focus on producing insights, other days you’ll build dashboards in Looker, and often you’ll create or update dbt models. You’ll serve as the analytics partner for specific product squads—becoming the expert in their domain, their users, and the data that powers decision-making. The team is highly self-sufficient and continuously expanding its skills into new areas.
Job Responsibility:
Product partnership and analytics ownership: Become the aligned analytics partner for specific product squads
develop deep expertise in what can be tracked, how users behave, and which datasets matter
translate business hypotheses into rigorous analytics and clear, actionable insights
Dashboards and reporting: Build intuitive dashboards and trackers in Looker, Mixpanel, and Fullstory
create easy-to-digest visualizations that Product, TAM, and business teams rely on daily
Data modeling and data quality: Build and maintain dbt models that aggregate core product usage data
improve data usability across Product, TAM, and GTM teams
ensure data remains trustworthy using Monte Carlo
Data expertise and best practices: Develop a deep understanding of Monte Carlo’s data, how it is collected, and how it should be interpreted
partner cross-functionally to steward best practices in analytics and product measurement
Requirements:
1–3 years of experience as a Data Analyst or Product Analyst
Demonstrated ability to turn business questions into actionable analyses
Strong SQL skills and analytical problem-solving ability
Familiarity with at least one modern BI tool (Looker preferred but not required)
An undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) emphasizing analytical thinking
