CSIRO Publishing is a leading Australian not‑for‑profit science publisher, delivering trusted books, journals, news and digital content to a diverse global audience. We are seeking a Data Analyst and Systems Officer to join our ePublishing team, responsible for supporting and enhancing digital systems that underpin publishing operations. In this role, you will work closely with technical and business teams to support day‑to‑day system operations, operate the support triage system and use data to analyse opportunities for new functionality across systems, workflows and processes.
Job Responsibility:
Support the operation and maintenance of digital publishing systems and platforms
Provide technical support and advice to CSIRO Publishing business areas to ensure business continuity, understanding and continuous improvement
Assist in monitoring business metrics (eg. website traffic, security, 24/7 functionality) and take appropriate actions as needed
Data analysis in support of business improvement and reporting
Communicate openly, effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO’s reputation
Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area such as IT or equivalent experience
Experience in data management, data analytics and insights
Experience in MSSQL and XML
Excellent written and oral communication skills and self-starter with proven ability to work independently and as a team player
Ability to quickly understand, articulate and analyse business and technical challenges and opportunities and to develop and communicate solution options and requirements
Ability to engage with stakeholders effectively to understand challenges and opportunities and to provide advice and support
Proven ability to work both independently and effectively in a team environment, proactively collaborating, consulting and sharing resources to accomplish objectives
