The Data & AI Technical Delivery Manager will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, ensuring timely delivery of technical solutions aligned with architectural standards. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in delivery management, with a strong focus on data and AI technologies. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or engineering is required. We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager with a strong technical background to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives for our client, one of the UK’s major energy providers. The role focuses on orchestrating end‑to‑end delivery across engineering, data, and cloud teams, ensuring that technical solutions are delivered on time, aligned with architectural standards, and fully support client’s operational and regulatory needs. You will drive stakeholder alignment, manage delivery risks, and enable teams to execute effectively in a fast‑moving environment where reliability, sustainability, and digital transformation are central priorities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for delivery of a large and complex programme, or a few medium sized projects simultaneously from inception to outcome delivery
  • Leading teams from 15 – 75 people
  • Used to dealing with C suite and senior client stakeholders to set and manage expectations
  • Manages multiple delivery teams via lower-level delivery staff for example scrum masters/agile delivery leads, project managers
  • Works closely with other practices such as platform, security, managed services and testing to deliver end to end solutions for clients and manage the various dependencies
  • Manages across onshore and nearshore or offshore teams
  • Comfortable in leading services delivered from client locations integrated with staff from NTT DATA locations
  • Comfortable with all aspects of programmatic including planning, resource management, dependency and risk management, commercials and forecasting
  • Experience in business development and sales and able to support opportunity qualification and bid reviews prior to submission to ensure they are robust and deliverable

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in delivery management, with at least 3-5 years working with data or AI technologies, in high scale/high distribution/enterprise level systems/tech on supply side
  • Previous experience as a Technical Delivery manager delivering data and/or AI solutions in both an Agile and hybrid environment
  • Experience of working on and leading larger Programmes of Data work or complex Data projects
  • Management of demand planning, forecasting, budgeting and prioritisation of project work within the team
  • Define, lead and monitor all team delivery ensuring adherence to delivery methodology, quality and architectural principles, to deliver business goals and minimise technical debt
  • Effort estimation: Organise, review and assure effort estimates for technical work, either for bids or on projects
  • Reporting: Prepare internal and external project reports which provide the necessary MI, and help to steer behaviour
  • Governance: Organise and drive project governance internally and externally
  • Risk management: Identify, track, communicate and manage risks, measure value and make judgments to minimise costs and delays
  • Dependency management: Identify, track, communicate and manage dependencies, measure value and make judgments to minimise costs and delays
  • Stakeholder management and communication: Manage client stakeholders to ensure alignment of the project to the customer and the customer to the project to ensure smooth delivery
  • Driving Agile and hybrid projects: Organise, facilitate and run agile ceremonies, modifying them to meet client and project needs
  • Project ownership: Be the controlling mind who keeps track of all the details, drives the project identity and success from beginning to end – own the entire project lifecycle
  • Delivery: Get projects delivered, ensure quality, and get formal acceptance of deliveries and deliverables
  • Assurance: Able to provide delivery assurance on assignments as required to help build quality and confidence in delivery
  • Strong expertise in delivering large programmes, complex projects or multiple simultaneous projects with Data and/or AI technologies and methodologies, in high scale/high distribution/enterprise level systems/tech on supply side
  • Experience building and running teams across multiple locations on the same programme, and cross site teams with members onshore, nearshore and offshore
  • Experience of working in multi practice engagements to deliver end to end solutions covering platform, testing, security and managed services
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, concisely providing key information about project progress and benefits to senior customers
  • Architecture - some understanding of application architecture, data architecture, infrastructure and business process
  • Leadership - strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders at senior level
