Job Description:

As the Social Housing Repairs and Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our social housing properties. You will lead a team of maintenance technicians and oversee all repairs and maintenance tasks particularly damp and mould, ensuring that our tenants receive the best possible service and live in well-maintained properties.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations
  • prioritize and schedule repair and maintenance tasks based on urgency and tenant needs
  • inspect properties regularly to identify maintenance and repair requirements
  • coordinate and manage contractors for larger repair projects
  • ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, as well as associated costs
  • collaborate with property management to address tenant concerns and resolve maintenance issues promptly
  • monitor and manage the maintenance budget effectively

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • relevant technical certifications or trade qualifications preferred
  • proven experience in maintenance and repairs within a social housing or property management environment
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • knowledge of health and safety regulations and maintenance best practices
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
