Job Description

We are recruiting for a DA Refuge Manager to lead a specialist refuge service in Leicester supporting women from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME) and refugee communities. This is an opportunity to join a highly respected women's organisation providing culturally sensitive support, emergency accommodation and community-based services to women and children fleeing abuse and violence.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing refuge staff and operational delivery
  • Safeguarding and complex case management
  • Supporting women affected by domestic abuse and trauma
  • Managing rotas, compliance and reporting
  • Senior on-call responsibilities
  • Working closely with external agencies and community organisations
  • Supporting culturally sensitive and trauma-informed services

Requirements

  • Previous management experience within Domestic Abuse, Refuge, Supported Housing or Safeguarding services
  • Strong safeguarding and risk assessment knowledge
  • Experience supporting BAME communities
  • Senior on-call experience
  • Managerial qualification essential
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage complex and emotionally demanding situations
  • Applicants must speak English plus at least 1 community/BAME language
