Job Description:

The D365 Finance & Operations Developer is the core platform developer within the Group Finance Systems team, responsible for the design, build, and maintenance of customisations and extensions within D365 F&O. Working closely with the Technical Architect and Business Analyst, this role translates functional requirements into robust, well-structured technical solutions — built in accordance with Microsoft best practices and the team's development standards. As a key technical contributor on the Billing Experience 2.0 programme, this role will be central to delivering the D365 platform changes needed to support modernised internal and external payment processes — including AP automation, payment format configurations, electronic reporting, and any required extensions to the finance data model.

Job Responsibility:

  • Deliver D365 F&O development workstreams in support of the Payment Experience 2.0 programme
  • Design and build extensions to AP, payment journal, and bank reconciliation processes as required by the programme
  • Develop and configure Electronic Reporting (ER) formats to support new payment file structures and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the Integration Developer on the technical touchpoints between D365 and external payment platforms or banking systems
  • Participate in technical design reviews and ensure Payment Experience 2.0 solutions are scalable and maintainable
  • Develop, test, and deploy D365 F&O customisations and extensions using X++ in line with Microsoft best practices
  • Design and build SSRS reports and data entities to meet finance reporting and data extraction requirements
  • Configure and extend Electronic Reporting (ER) framework components
  • Manage development environments using the D365 toolchain including Cloud Hosted Environments (CHE), Azure DevOps (ADO), and Lifecycle Services (LCS)
  • Write clean, well-documented code and conduct peer code reviews within the team
  • Maintain technical documentation for all customisations, configurations, and deployments
  • Ensure solutions are tested thoroughly, supporting SIT and UAT cycles alongside the Business Analyst
  • Work closely with the Business Analyst to understand requirements and contribute to functional design decisions
  • Support the Technical Architect in defining and upholding development standards
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members where applicable

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on development experience in D365 Finance & Operations using X++
  • Experience across core D365 finance modules: GL, AP, AR, budgeting, bank management
  • Delivered end-to-end customisations through the full development lifecycle — from design through deployment
  • Experience with payment-related D365 functionality (payment journals, vendor payments, bank reconciliation, SEPA/BACS/SWIFT formats) is highly advantageous
  • Familiarity with SSRS report development and Electronic Reporting (ER) framework
  • Experience working within structured DevOps pipelines using Azure DevOps and LCS

Nice to have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate — desirable
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Apps Developer Associate — desirable
What we offer:
  • Flexi-Week and Work-Life Balance: We prioritise your mental health and wellbeing, offering you a flexible four-day Flexi-Week at full pay and with no reduction to your annual holiday allowance. We also offer a variety of different paid special leaves
  • Remote Working Allowance: You will receive a monthly allowance to cover part of your running costs. In addition, we will support you in setting up your remote workspace appropriately
  • Flexi-Office: We offer an international culture and flexibility through our Flexi-Office and hybrid/remote work possibilities to work across Awin regions
