Job Description

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead multiple high-visibility, complex cybersecurity initiatives across a highly regulated and mission-driven environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of projects—from planning and execution through delivery and post-implementation—while coordinating across cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and ensure alignment across stakeholders
  • Create and maintain key project documentation (e.g., project charter, business case, RAID log, communications plan, requirements traceability matrix, and project metrics)
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders, senior leadership, and executive audiences
  • Identify, assess, and communicate risks, issues, and gaps proactively
  • Drive project execution from initiation through closeout, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Support feasibility assessments, prioritization, and resource planning across initiatives
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts and evaluate process efficiency and strategic alignment
  • Collaborate across departments to support enterprise-level transformation initiatives
  • Build strong relationships and influence stakeholders within a matrixed environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Computer Science, or related field preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience managing complex, high-visibility projects in a matrixed environment
  • PMP certification required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Experience presenting to and facilitating discussions with senior leadership or executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk, balance priorities, and drive outcomes
  • Experience developing and maintaining detailed project documentation and reporting
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with standard business tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Nice to have

  • Experience managing projects aligned with NIST or similar cybersecurity frameworks
  • Background in government, defense, or highly regulated environments
  • Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related field
