Job Description

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Cyber Systems Administrator to support the SEWS program in Colorado Springs

Job Responsibility

  • Check logs from critical servers, network devices, and security tools (like SIEMs) for any anomalies, errors, or warnings that occur overnight
  • Monitor the health and performance of the IT infrastructure, including CPU, memory, and disk usage on key servers, and check network traffic for bottlenecks
  • Confirm that all scheduled backup jobs from the previous night are completed successfully and without errors
  • Actively check that key services and daemons are running
  • Review and prioritize alerts from security systems like Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), firewalls, and antivirus software
  • Perform a quick health check on major databases
  • Run a quick scan or check a dashboard to ensure that critical SSL/TLS certificates for public-facing websites and services are not nearing their expiration date
  • Review network access control (NAC) logs or network scans to see if any unauthorized or unknown devices have connected to the network

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 4+ years of Systems admin experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years of total relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • Security+ verification is required
  • Experience with CND tools, vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection/prevention
  • Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 8/9 Server and Workstation administration
  • Windows 10/11 Server and Workstation administration
  • Experience building, managing, and maintaining Domain Controllers
  • DNS, Active Directory, GPOs, and LDAP configuration
  • Experience with MS SQL Server, Postgres, or other database systems

Nice to have

Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) Certification is preferred
