Job Description

As a CVICU RN, you'll provide care to patients with life-threatening heart conditions. CVICU RNs are experts in cardiac care and recovery, and you'll treat patients suffering from heart attacks, cardiac dysrhythmia, and various other cardiac related conditions that require continuous monitoring and treatment. Travel nurses work for a limited amount of time at a particular location, providing patient care and support before moving on to their next exciting adventure. Travel healthcare professionals are experienced caregivers who adapt quickly to change and enjoy learning new things.   • Monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life-threatening disease
  • Begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds
  • Provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan
  • Deliver care to patients in critical condition who are suffering heart problems
  • Clinically care for your patients- remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift
  • Serve as their advocate- supporting their best interests when they cannot
  • Assess, plan, and implement nursing care while ensuring patient comfort
  • Anticipate, identify, and respond to informational and emotional needs of patients and families
  • Guide and direct healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients
  • Maintain knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices)
