Job Responsibility:
Assign and maintain correct commodity codes (HS codes) for all products, ensuring accurate tariff classification to prevent compliance issues and optimize duty costs
Determine and manage preferential origin of goods under applicable trade agreements
Oversee supplier declarations and origin documentation and maximize utilization of preferential tariff benefits for customers
Monitor and ensure compliance with export controls and international sanctions (EU, UN, US, etc.)
Oversee customs documentation, coordinate with brokers and authorities, resolve issues, and monitor regulatory changes in key markets
Design and implement customs processes and internal controls, develop and update policy documentation, deliver customs training, and drive continuous improvement and best practices across the organization
Conduct regular audits, manage compliance risks, and support external inspections
Prepare reports and analysis for management
Requirements:
Secondary education (University degree in International Trade, Customs Administration, Law, Economics, Logistics, or a related field is a huge advantage)
Minimum 5 years of experience in customs operations, international trade compliance, or export controls in a manufacturing/export-oriented company
Expert knowledge of customs classification, rules of origin, export controls, and customs procedures in the EU and globally
Experience in designing and implementing internal processes, leading audits, and delivering training
Ability to work independently and provide strategic guidance, strong analytical and communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Czech and English
Driving license and willingness to travel (about 5% of working time)
Nice to have:
Experience with customs IT systems integration and ERP
Established relationships with customs authorities and external consultants
