Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid on MID SHIFT, 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM . This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare reports and analysis on GMNA Customs Imports correctly and timely executed based on the set standard and methodologies, follows adequate compliance requirements and internal controls, and serves as a repository of expertise in their functional area
Preferential Solicitation for US import, refunds and qualification for duty avoidance, Non-Preferential Solicitation to support US expedited release programs, CCA, various GM warehouse for Country-of-Origin information and US Good Returns
Perform Customs Origin work in compliance with regulatory requirements and delivery of requests from customers and stakeholders
Develop deep expertise in the area being supported, USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements with GM North America, includes willingness to work with Global Customs counterparts and contacts to enhance knowledge as well as study GM Policies and Procedures and other external sources
Lead complex projects that will eliminate non-value adding activities
Drive and lead calls and discussions with customers, business partners and stakeholders within the Customs space
Support as back-up in cases of contingency plan, especially for high complex processes
Support documentation and ensures timely updates of desk procedures as necessary
Support CCA requests and requirements by performing solicitation work and temporary keying of country of origin in the system
Attend daily IRP- Immediate Response Process – dutiable items crossing into the US
Support solicitation of American Automobile Labeling Act (AALA) for labeling compliance
Perform auditing of customs documents and processing on supplier’s behalf ensuring compliance in customs standard
Follow up with Global Suppliers on Customs Documents, both email and phone calls
Communicate Document errors to suppliers. Escalate non-responsive suppliers as needed
Perform analysis when supplier dispute document address
Assist and encourage suppliers in using Document Solicitation System and conduct training as needed
Oversee urgent tasks cascaded to the rest of solicitation analyst, as it comes
Responsible for operationally executing and supporting Customs Origin and Solicitation methodologies and processes
Provide timely and accurate update on the workload as part of Status Reporting
Produce schedules, reports, analysis, and other work-product as required
Has strong control focus – brings any issues (financial or control-related) forward immediately
Can present to Senior Leadership and consolidating information in a clear and understandable manner
Ability to collaborate and work with others efficiently, including Philippines peers and colleagues
Has a strong focus on process improvements to drive quality service and compliance
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration / Business Administration or equivalent
Familiarity in North America or International Customs Policy
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge in MS Access, Knime, Power BI or any automation and AI tool
Flexibility in work hours to accommodate US, MX and PH Time zones
