Job Description

This role exists to ensure compliant, efficient, and audit‑ready customs operations across Unilever Europe markets. As part of our central Customs Operations Team in Katowice, you will help drive seamless cross‑border goods movement, safeguard customs compliance, and contribute to operational excellence across 18 European countries.

Job Responsibility

  • Establish and maintain customs processes for newly implemented transport lanes
  • Create instructions for customs brokers and ensure their accurate execution
  • Manage and control customs declarations and tax assessments from a legal and compliance perspective (audit-ready documentation)
  • Analyse and report on customs duties, broker service performance, and cost structures
  • Oversee the invoice payment process for customs-related services
  • Manage Intrastat reporting and deferment/deposit accounts
  • Support internal audits and drive continuous compliance improvements
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Procurement, VAT, Planning, and Transport teams
  • Maintain strong operational relationships with customs brokers across import and export activities
  • Coordinate the handling of customs claims, including recovering duties paid due to documentation or transportation issues

Requirements

  • Experience in customs, foreign trade, logistics, finance, planning, or procurement
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to work with data
  • Knowledge of supply chain and finance processes
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong communication skills and cross‑cultural awareness
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and manage own workload effectively
