Job Description

As a Customs Manager (m/f/d), you’ll be part of our growing Customs Team and play a key role in scaling our international markets. You’ll bring your expertise into all relevant processes — from operational execution to the strategic development of our customs setup. You’ll work closely with Business Development, Logistics, Supply Chain, and various external partners.

Job Responsibility

  • Take ownership of customs and compliance topics across our international import and export operations
  • Giving support with classifying our fashion & textile products, including TARIC code assignment
  • Continuously improve existing processes and tools together with the Customs Team and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Support new market setups and integrations from a customs perspective
  • Create and maintain guidelines, process descriptions, and documentation
  • Communicate with external service providers, authorities, and internal partners
  • Analyze data (e.g., in Excel) to identify risks and optimization potential
  • Ensure correct, consistent, and compliant customs documentation
  • Coordinate import and export processes with various service providers
  • Monitor and control the costs of AY’s customs processes

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Management, Compliance, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in import/export operations and submitting customs declarations, ideally in e-commerce or the textile sector
  • Professional experience in customs consulting or customs management, with a proven track record in roles such as Customs Compliance Manager or similar
  • Very good communication skills and a structured, analytical, and organized way of working
  • Interest in improving processes, driving projects, and taking ownership
  • Solid knowledge of international trade, compliance, tax, and customs regulations
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders
  • Fluency in German and English
