We are seeking a Customs Compliance Analyst to support the execution of Bob’s customs compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable U.S. and international trade regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of import/export compliance processes. The ideal candidate will contribute to maintaining an efficient, compliant, and audit-ready customs program through accurate data management, process execution, and cross-functional collaboration. In this role, you will apply your knowledge of import regulations, tariff classification, country of origin determination, valuation, and free trade agreement qualification to support daily operations and key compliance initiatives. You will work closely with the Senior Customs Compliance Advisor and Director of Customs Compliance along with cross-functional partners to maintain compliance documentation, streamline import processes, and identify opportunities for process improvement. You will collaborate with teams in Inbound Logistics, Sourcing, Merchandising and Finance to ensure accurate and compliant customs documentation, support internal reviews and help mitigate potential compliance risks. This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of goods and successful customs clearance across all import channels where Bob’s is the Importer of Record. It works closely with customs brokers, booking agent and other key third-party logistics partners to maintain compliance with all applicable customs laws and regulations while supporting the company’s business objectives.
Job Responsibility:
Support the execution and maintenance of Bob’s customs compliance program under the direction of the Director of Customs Compliance and Senior Customs Compliance Advisor
Perform accurate classification, valuation and country of origin determinations for imported products
Prepare and maintain import documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency with regulatory and internal policy requirements
Monitor import entries, broker filings, and post-entry corrections to ensure compliance and timely resolution of discrepancies
Help manage Bob’s participation in the CTPAT program by coordinating documentation, internal assessments and maintaining compliance with Minimum Security Criteria
Monitor changes in trade regulations, tariff updates, and customs rulings
summarize and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders
Support continuous improvement initiatives by documenting and helping implement process enhancements and automation opportunities
Maintain accurate and organized compliance records, including classification databases, SOPs, and audit documentation
Collaborate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely and compliant import clearances
Assist with internal audits, broker reviews, and compliance assessments to ensure operational integrity and readiness for external audits
Support internal training efforts by maintaining up-to-date reference materials and assisting with compliance education initiatives
Provide analytical and administrative support for special compliance projects and ad hoc requests
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, International business or associated discipline
2-4 years of experience within supply chain operations and/or trade compliance function
Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import documentation requirements
Experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification and trade data analysis
Basic understanding of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, and customs valuation principles
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions
Comfortable working with data, reports, and systems (e.g. CBP ACE Portal) to monitor compliance performance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, brokers, and third-party logistics providers
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities
Ability to maintain thorough and accurate documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
experience with trade systems (e.g., ACE, broker portals, or trade management tools) preferred
Eagerness to learn and contribute to improving processes, technology utilization, and operational efficiency
Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and compliance standards
Nice to have:
Licensed Customs Broker Certification is a plus, but not required
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage projects and multiple priorities
