Job Description

We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Customs Co-ordinator to join our team in Basingstoke. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods across international borders.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of Import & Export Customs Declarations
  • Monitor the status of customs entries to ensure smooth clearance
  • Provide third-party customs brokers with precise clearance instructions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate an efficient customs clearance process
  • Classify materials/products in accordance with the UK Customs Tariff (HTS)
  • Track and report on customs-related KPIs to support performance monitoring
  • Provide customs consultancy support to internal departments as needed
  • Quote and process international freight bookings across multiple transport modes
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are met while adhering to compliance controls
  • Perform all other duties related to the customs clearance of consignments

Requirements

  • Proven experience in customs coordination or international logistics
  • Strong understanding of UK customs regulations and procedures

  • Monitor and record mechanical replacement vehicle (MRV) usage, reporting to the company vehicle insurer on a weekly basis
  • Support with the general administration of vehicle compliance paperwork, including inspections, servicing, MOT, and defect documentation
  • Support the management team where required to ensure Cordic dispatch system is continually updated with changes to transport routes, including the addition and removal of new or ceased routes
  • Support contract management team by liaising with operational staff by email, telephone, or in person, providing notification of any amendments to transport routes
  • Troubleshoot and provide support to users of dispatch system, Cordic, where required and able to
  • Assist with the completion of timesheets and general payroll amendments for Drivers & Passenger Assistants
  • Support as required with project work relating to the depot and transport operation
  • Fulfil other reasonable duties as and when requested by the management team.

  • Monday - Friday, 35 hours a week. Shift patterns will be scheduled within the operating hours of 06:00 to 18:00 depending on business needs. Employees will work 7 hours per day, with an additional one hour unpaid lunch break
