Job Responsibility

  • Analyzing and interpretation of product information to assign Customs Classification due to the Harmonized Tariff System
  • Monitoring and verification of Customs Classifications defined in central process of classification
  • Embedding and maintaining correct and complete product customs classification in SAP GTS
  • Prepare supporting documentation and reasoning for classification
  • Cooperation with internal departments (Plant, Logistics, Procurement)

Requirements

  • Professional experience in customs or foreign trade area (1+)
  • University degree in engineering or similar technical areas will be the asset
  • Knowledge about rules of tariff classification is essential
  • Fluency in English
  • German language will be highly appreciated
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams)
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with the strong communication
  • Team spirit and intercultural skills, able to work in virtual environment

  • Determines correct HS codes for new products by reviewing technical details and using validated customs resources such as CBSA, CBP, and TARIC

  • Evaluates export shipments for eligibility under trade agreements (CUSMA/USMCA, CETA, CPTPP)
  • Applies rules of origin, prepares certificates of origin, and manages record retention
  • Supports duty reduction opportunities for international customers and strengthens pricing competitiveness
  • Prepares and validates export documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and certificates of origin
