We are looking for a compassionate Customer Service Representative to support individuals seeking assistance. This contract position is ideal for someone who can remain calm and detail-oriented while managing a high volume of calls from people facing challenging circumstances. The person in this role will guide applicants through the screening process, help complete required documentation, and coordinate internally.
Job Responsibility
Respond to a large number of inbound calls from individuals requesting assistance, providing clear and respectful support throughout each interaction
Assess applicant eligibility by using established screening guidelines and asking thoughtful questions to gather accurate information
Assist clients in completing required forms and documentation, ensuring all records are thorough and ready for review
Enter application details into computer systems with accuracy and maintain organized case information
Communicate with internal team members to support funding consideration for applicants with relevant experience and help move cases forward
Submit completed paperwork to the appropriate internal contacts so approved assistance can be processed for payment
Maintain courtesy and empathy when assisting people who may be experiencing stress, urgency, or hardship
Follow defined procedures and direction carefully while balancing service quality, timeliness, and attention to detail
Requirements
Previous experience in customer service, call center support, or another high-volume phone-based environment
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and listen attentively
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and professionalism when working with individuals in sensitive situations
Solid computer proficiency, including data entry and navigating multiple screens or systems efficiently
Good organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation accurately and keep work details in order
Ability to follow established processes and screening tools consistently while maintaining accuracy
Comfortable handling inbound and outbound calls as needed to support applicant service and follow-up
