We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to support a manufacturing-related customer service operation in Lombard, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who communicates clearly, stays composed while handling a high volume of inquiries, and takes pride in delivering accurate and courteous service. The person in this role will assist customers by phone and email, resolve questions efficiently, and document interactions thoroughly to help maintain a high standard of support.
Job Responsibility
Respond to inbound customer calls promptly and professionally, using clear communication and a service-focused approach
Investigate and resolve customer questions by reviewing account details and identifying the appropriate next steps
Record complete and accurate notes for each interaction to ensure customer histories are well documented
Escalate complex or sensitive concerns to the appropriate team lead without delay
Guide customers through payment-related inquiries, including support with credit card transactions when needed
Monitor email and internal communication channels each day to stay informed and respond to requests in a timely manner
Enter and update customer information with accuracy while maintaining organized records across support activities
Perform additional customer service and administrative tasks as assigned to support daily operations
Requirements
Prior experience in customer service, call center support, or another phone-based service environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills with clear grammar, appropriate tone, and strong listening ability
Ability to manage inbound calls efficiently while maintaining accuracy and courtesy
Comfortable documenting customer interactions and completing data entry with close attention to detail
Experience using email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel in a work setting
Capable of handling payment-related customer support tasks with care and accuracy
Strong problem-solving skills and judgment in identifying when issues should be escalated
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
