We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to support daily client interactions and account-related activities for an onsite team in South Portland, Maine. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who communicates clearly, works confidently with billing details, and is comfortable using Excel and other business systems throughout the day. The role focuses on delivering responsive service, handling payment and order-related questions, and helping customers resolve issues accurately and effectively.
Job Responsibility
Respond to incoming customer inquiries by phone and provide timely, detail-oriented support for service, account, and general billing questions
Process payments, review account balances, and assist customers with invoice-related concerns while maintaining accuracy in all updates
Enter and maintain order information in company systems, ensuring records are complete and current
Make outbound calls as needed to follow up on open issues, confirm account details, or support service-related communication
Use Microsoft Excel to organize information, review numerical data, and assist with routine reporting or account tracking tasks
Work across customer service and administrative tools to manage requests efficiently and keep documentation up to date
Identify customer needs during interactions and promote appropriate service options when relevant, drawing on a consultative approach
Collaborate with internal team members to resolve account discrepancies and ensure a smooth customer experience
Requirements
Previous experience in a customer service role with regular phone-based interaction
Ability to handle billing, payments, and account inquiries with strong attention to detail
Proficiency with computers and business software, including Microsoft Excel
Experience with order entry or maintaining customer information in internal systems
Comfortable managing both inbound and outbound calls in a fast-paced environment
Strong numerical aptitude and confidence working with data, balances, and transaction details
Sales or business development experience is preferred, especially in a customer-facing setting
