We're supporting a family-run distributor within the speciality ingredients sector to hire a Customer Service Manager who will play a key role in ensuring exceptional support to customers, suppliers, and logistics partners. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, detail-driven environment and wants to build a long-term career within a specialist technical industry. Working remotely as part of a close-knit operations and commercial team, you'll act as a central point of co-ordination between customers, suppliers, warehouses, and hauliers. You'll oversee the full order life cycle - making sure products and documentation move accurately, safely and on time. You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership and other departments to maintain stock levels, protect margins, and uphold strong working relationships across the supply chain.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the primary contact for order placement, updates and customer enquiries
Process customer orders with accuracy, ensuring correct pricing and documentation
Keep customers and sales teams informed of order progress and any supply chain changes
Place purchase orders with suppliers and monitor goods through to warehouse receipt
Organise freight bookings, track shipments and ensure timely delivery
Liaise with warehouses to maintain stock accuracy and delivery performance
Ensure import/export documentation reaches the appointed customs agent correctly
Prepare required labels, hazardous transport forms and outbound paperwork
Maintain accurate data records and support incident reports for delivery issues
Support stock level control to maintain agreed safety stocks
Ensure internal processes are followed to protect commercial margins and compliance
Build strong working relationships with suppliers, hauliers and other partners
Requirements:
Experience in customer service or B2B order management (essential)
Background in logistics, order processing or stock control (desirable)
Confident using business systems such as ERP/order processing tools and Excel
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a "right-first-time" mindset
Able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment and work independently from home
A positive communicator who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and external partners
A full UK driving licence
