Job Description

Our client, a cement manufacturing company, is looking for a customer service representative for their team in Laval. This is a long-term contract, renewable annually.

Job Responsibility

  • Load Planning: Coordinate the volume of concrete goods to be shipped based on customer orders and production capacities
  • Freight Rating: Evaluate and apply freight rates, negotiate shipping or demurrage (waiting) fees, and audit transport invoices for accuracy
  • Real-Time Tracking: Monitor cargo movement and ensure compliance with delivery windows at jobsites or terminals
  • Transport Documentation: Prepare, verify, and file required paperwork (bills of lading, waybills, special permits for heavy loads)
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure strict compliance with Amrize’s safety standards, particularly regarding carrier compliance, load weight limits, and safety on unloading sites

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in B2B customer service roles
  • Proficiency in a B2B industry, dealing primarily over the phone
  • Strong computer skills, including SAP suite offerings
  • Bilingualism is mandatory for this role, as the representative is responsible for customers outside Quebec
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • The candidate must have an acute sense of time management, autonomy and ability to work as part of a team
