Job Description

In this internship, you will be at the heart of our strategy to maximize Customer Lifetime Value. You'll dive deep into our data to uncover what keeps our customers loyal and identify the key levers to drive long-term retention. Your work will directly influence key business decisions and help shape the future of Flink's customer retention strategy.

Job Responsibility

  • Crack the Code on Retention: use causal inference to identify the root causes of churn and the true drivers of value
  • Bridge the Business Silos: work across different domains (Operations, Revenue, Pricing) to understand how different levers impact the customer experience
  • Steer Investment with ROI: quantify the economic impact of retention drivers to guide the business toward initiatives with the highest financial return
  • Translate Data to Strategy: turn complex analysis into a clear strategic narrative and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in a field such as Data Science, Econometrics, or Statistics
  • Know the basics in SQL
  • Have gained first experiences building statistical models in Python or R
  • Proactive problem solver with a curious mindset and passion for understanding customer behavior
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to present complex information clearly and concisely to senior leaders

  • Own the backend data management, UPC-level database architecture, and PowerBI infrastructure that power Consumer Insights’ transformation into a proactive intelligence platform
  • Write and maintain SQL queries, Python scripts, DAX measures, and Power Query (M) transformations to enable self-service insights, real-time KPI tracking, and predictive modeling
  • Design, build, and maintain 12+ monthly Brand Intelligence dashboards
  • Create and maintain the underlying data models, relationships, and row-level security configurations
  • Develop live OKR tracking dashboards for innovation pipeline, Private Label opportunities, and retailer-specific strategic decks
  • Build predictive assortment optimization models using Monte Carlo simulations and SKU success forecasting
  • Own and manage UPC-level data mapping between CPG syndicated sources (SPINS, Circana, Nielsen), internal KeHE product databases, and the PowerBI data models they feed
  • Build and maintain automated ETL pipelines using Python scripts, SQL stored procedures, and Power Query (M)
  • Establish and enforce data governance standards for CPG UPC databases
  • Design and maintain the centralized data architecture (SQL databases, Python-managed data stores)
